| This service uses state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques and therapeutic interventions to deal with all forms of glomerulonephritis, renal tubular acidosis, proteinuria, hematuria, and urinary tract infections. When indicated, renal biopsies are performed using the newest technique of real-time ultrasound guidance with an automated ultra-fine biopsy needle. Hospitalization for biopsies averages less than 24 hours at UCLA using this technique. Evaluations and follow-up appointments are scheduled for Wednesday mornings, but urgent cases are seen at any time. |
