Research Interests
Malignant transformation is characterized by a series of genetic alterations that promote uncontrolled tumor cell growth and proliferation. This is met by an elevated requirement for macromolecules for cell structure and function. Our work focuses on the dysregulated signal transduction pathways in glioblastoma, the most lethal form of brain cancer, and their interplay with tumor cell metabolism. A thorough understanding of the interactions between altered signal transduction and metabolism may lead to new strategies designed to target specific molecular signatures in glioblastoma and other cancers.
