Research Interests
Our laboratory is interested in the mechanism of signal transduction involving heterotrimeric G proteins. The research has been focusing on how Go proteins contribute to whole body homeostasis. We have developed several gene deficiency mouse models using a homologous recombination (gene knockout) technique. Studies of these animals have shown that the mutant mice give rise to a variety of neuronal and endocrine deficient phenotypes. The goal of our research is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms through Go signaling pathways in physiological and pathological states.
