Research Interests
The goal of my research is to modify herpesviruses for benefiting human health as gene delivery vectors. Specifically, in the past few years, we have conducted extensive mutagenesis on murine gammaherpesvirus-68 (MHV-68) and gained tremendous knowledge about the viral replication. We will utilize the capability of MHV-68 to infect a variety
of human cells for engineering the virus as a therapeutic vehicle. The major aim is to construct a live attenuated MHV-68 virus as a vaccine vector to deliver antigens and stimulate protective immunity.
