Research Interests

Working at the interface of chemistry, biology, and medicine to better understand and treat metabolic disease and cancer

Liver disease and cancer represent two of the greatest threats to human health in the modern age. The Clark Lab takes a chemical biology approach to develop, validate, and use new tools to study, understand, and exploit metabolism in vitro and in vivo for the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. The current focus of the lab is designing and identifying functional PET molecular imaging biomarkers to rapidly assessing the efficacy of therapeutic interventions in people

The successful treatment of complex diseases, including (and perhaps especially) liver disease and cancer will require new assays and new technologies to complement traditional approaches. The goal of the Clark Lab is to develop these assay and technologies to unlock new and interesting biology and ultimately to improve patient care.
